A few weeks ago, I decided to re-join up with Los Angeles Team in Training, but THIS time, it's different...
With the help of my coaches, mentors and teammates, I will be training to complete and IRONMAN distance Triathlon next July 30th! The Vineman Triathlon is a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike, and a 26.2 mile run!
This is going to be a challenge, but I am looking forward to the journey. I am also excited to be training while raising funds to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society- to help support research to find a cure for blood cancers.

Nation's Triathlon
In September, I was thrilled to be able to fly back home to DC to participate in the largest Triathlon event in the country! Over 5000 participants registered for the Nation's Triathlon on September 12th.
It turned out to be a very rainy morning, which made for a very wet race course.
Despite the weather, it was a great race- and great to be so close to home!
The finisher's medal was so impressive I decided to wear it out to the bar to celebrate - probably the only time I will ever wear a medal in public!

Less than 20 days until Race Day!
We have been training very hard this season, and especially the past two weeks. We have been increasing our distances and workout times to build endurance- and in the coming weeks before the race, the focus will be on gaining speed - it is a RACE after all!
While biking and running long distances are challenging, I still think that the hardest part is going to be the swim. Getting used to swimming in a wet suit in the open water is something that really takes some getting used to! The more we practice the better we get, so I am hoping it will become second-nature. We have another "mock-tri" this weekend, where we will practice all three parts of the race, as well as the transitions in between.
I am excited to see some of my teammates go off to Maui this weekend for their race event! Hopefully they will have a great race, and return with some helpful insights for the rest of us!

Training for a Cure
Welcome to my Traithlon page!
This is the place where I will be keeping updates on my progress with training and my up-coming events!
I am training for my first triathlon this summer with Team in Training while raising money to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. We have been training since February for the San Diego International Triathlon on June 27th, and we have made a lot of progress so far!
Please help the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society by making a donation on my fund raising page! I have posted updates from the very beginning of my training on there as well so take a look while you are there.
